Local Eco Shop Campaign

We are Grace and May; two sisters who share a passion for sustainable living.

A pledge to live a more eco-conscious lifestyle at home led us to launch our own independent business in May 2020, bringing the very best British products to you.

We are proud to share the ideal that it is possible to have a beautiful home whilst supporting British design and manufacturing, combined with joining an ever-growing group of like-minded individuals who are aware of their shopping impact on the wider environment.

THE PLAN:

Our business is currently online. We attend fairs, do pop ups, speak at local community events, have four social media accounts and are fully carbon literate having completed relevant training through the Carbon Literacy Project. We love meeting other fellow Earth lovers but we feel we can do more if we have a permanent base to work from. 

The appetite for sustainable, closed loop products has continued to go from strength to strength. It’s fantastic, but not without issues. We honestly feel we can do much more, so as many people as possible can lead a more sustainable way of life, but as a small business cashflow is tight which is why we need your support to bring a sustainable refill shop to the local community, showcasing products made here in the UK! 

Currently there are no eco refill shops in the local area and that's where we want to step in. We owe it to the younger generation to embrace and promote a new ‘normal’. We have located a perfect retail space but need your help! 

The money will be used to ensure we have the correct fixtures and fittings in the shop, an area where refill is simple and easy to use, a person in the shop ready to help during our opening hours for a minimum of four days a week 10.00-16.00 and that we are also fully insured and compliant with products across Beauty, Homeware and Stationery all made here in the UK. 

We would also like to provide a platform for other small eco friendly business to showcase their products as we know how hard it is to get in front of customers in those early days. 

Having been in business for 3.5 years, we are fully aware of how many businesses fail in the first few years and we want to ensure continuity and reliability in our first year of having a shop open. In order to succeed, we need a minimum of £10,000. If we don’t reach this target, we will use the money to expand our online product offer, attend more markets and fairs and support local green initiatives.
