Gorilla Reintroduction Project, Gabon

This is an amazing video of our gorilla group reintroduced here at Batéké Plateau National Park. The group is becoming bigger and bigger - 11 gorillas have been born in the wild since the beginning of the project in Gabon. Our big daddy Tonga is doing a great job!

It’s an incredible opportunity to watch their natural behavior, without disturbing them. Camera traps are the only way we can do this. Watch how the juveniles play and eat behind their giant, but gentle, dad!

Silverbacks are amazing fathers. They are very protective and patient towards their exuberant offspring.

It’s known that young gorillas look to spend more and more time with their father when they grow older, instead of looking for the attention of other females.
