We aim to raise £70,000 to secure a premises in central London and help build the Golazio brand. This will go along with our own investment.
The Golazio project was started 4 years ago and our first bar has been open for over 10 months. We are a 90s Italian football themed sports bar based in Walworth, near Camberwell. Over 50% of our customers do not live in the local area - we are very much a destination bar. We get visitors from all over London, the UK and Ireland. We have had visitors from as far as Melbourne and New Jersey come in for the Nostalgia of 90's football in Italy. We have a prominent following on social media with over 5000 followers on Twitter and Instagram. We have had TV companies from China (the first foreign football to be shown in China was Serie A in the 90's), Holland and the UK come to the bar to film. Journalist from Poland and Gemany have written pieces on the bar. We have had Eleven Sports film in the bar with @jameshorncastle and recently were asked to host the launch of the new book by the famous Liverpool and Roma player, John Arrne Riise. There are currently a handful of sports bars in London, but they are all fairly similar - loads of screens and a few pool tables. We want to change that. There is a definite gap for a retro football themed bar. You only have to look at football pages on Instagram and Twitter and they are full of retro football - well, Golazio is that bar. The opportunities for the brand are endless. If we opened in central London we would get the best of everything. All of our visitors from the UK and Ireland would have easy access to a central London location. There are an estimated 200,000 Italians living in London. Each of the top Italian teams have huge supporters clubs in London and have small locations across London to watch their teams. We could accommodate all of these teams, as well as, accommodating the £1.1 million Italian tourists who visit London every year. We have been asked by many people on social media to open more Golazio bars in Glasgow, Dublin and Manchester. The sky is the limit. In order to get this bar opened in Central London it would take some serious investment. Helping us raise £70,000, which would be used along side our investment, would help us with the building works and decoration. If we acheive this amount we would be ready to go. We are giving away some fantastic rewards including some amazing Golazio merchandise, to craft beer tastings. Our most exciting reward on offer is free entry for life, including food, to any of our amazing events we have planned. We have already had talks with several of the most famous ex-Serie A stars including Ruud Gullit and Franco Baresi and plan to get loads more in.
