Godrergraig Athletic AFC is a non-profit community amateur sports club, situated in the Swansea valleys who after many years of being inactive ( 2019 was our last season ) are reforming. 
There is a lot of history around the club and it’s time to re-create that environment again for all, after years of decline.
Our 1st season back as a club in the village will be the 25/26 season in the Neath and District seniors League, our goals are clear for the future but the work begins now.
We have set ourselves a challenge to give the community a better platform to share in our vision for the future.
The pitch, facilities and surrounding area is in need of improvement to ensure we are ready for the new season.
The money raised from this will enable us too make the project a success.
After many years of uncertainty about the future of the club, the facilities and equipment of the club have suffered during this time.
Starting from scratch us as volunteers face many challenges, bringing the changing facilities back to a level that will be welcoming to the community, repairing the damages that have accumulated of the years of inactivity and making a safer environment for our players and visitors.
The pitch and surrounding area of the ground will be maintained by our grounds team, however to ensure this can be maintained we will be installing barriers around the pitch.
We want to offer the best possible experience for everyone that visits our ground, be welcoming and a safe space for the community to enjoy watching our teams compete.
We set up this crowdfunding page with guidances from FAW and Sports Wales, for which we are grateful.
We could also be eligible for matched funding for this project from Sports Wales.

We are rebuilding the club for a better future.
PHASE 1 will be the changing rooms : our first target of £2000
With the money raised we can update them to a suitable and welcoming standard for all.
Inside :
We will replace the damaged floors, new windows which have been smashed, a new ceiling, new showers and remodel the layout where applicable.
Outside :
we will replace the broken decking on entry to the facilities and changing rooms, replace the fence surrounding the facilities.
‘Both the interior and exterior will be re-painted which will not only have a better look for the community but will be a platform for further future development.’
To make it a safer environment for our members, supporters and the community, we will put secure fencing around key boundaries of the pitch.
PHASE 2 of the project : BARRIER FENCING
( IF WE HIT OUR TARGET WE WILL CONTINUE TO RAISE FUNDS AND SET A NEW GOAL, COST OF THE BARRIER FENCING - £3500 )
The fencing will play a vital part of our project and future plans, it will ensure a safety barrier during match days, training and for future events.
It will make the area more environmentally friendly and sustainable for the future of the club.
This will make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone and gives local businesses a platform to promote their businesses with advertising boards.
Having the barrier will also separate the pitch from the surrounding area and will be integral to our future plans for development as a community club.

We will be able to use the ground for community based events in the future, for the children and families in the community and surrounding areas.
