Goals 4 Girls

RCN 1199301, London

Goals 4 Girls exists to support and raise the aspirations of young women & girls aged 11-16, within the UK'S most marginalised communities. We are a female-led personal & social development organisation that delivers programmes designed by the girls and for the girls. We are driven by the desire to break down barriers through football and mentorship in education. Goals 4 Girls helps young women live happier and healthier lives.

DID YOU KNOW BY THE AGE OF 14 GIRLS DROP OUT OF SPORTS AT TWICE THE RATE OF BOYS?!

G4G has been providing an award-winning football & mentoring programme for over 10 years to girls & young women from complex backgrounds & deprived areas of London. We use football as an educational tool to transform attitudes and behaviours towards learning. We find this has helped our participants to raise aspirations, confidence and motivational skills.

Our Mission:

Goals 4 Girls exists to support and raise the aspirations of young women and girls aged 11-16, within the UK'S most marginalised communities. We are a female-led personal and social development organisation that delivers programs designed by the girls and for the girls. We are driven by the desire to break down barriers through football and mentorship in education. Goals 4 Girls helps young people live happier and healthier lives.

The need to engage girls in more active lifestyles has never been more urgent. This generation of teenage girls are experiencing worrying mental health issues and report being less happy, more anxious and increasingly dissatisfi ed with their appearance. The pandemic has, in many instances, simply amplified these issues for many girls. The barriers to sports participation exist everywhere: on the pitch, on the sidelines, within sporting clubs and organisations. They also span every aspect of sports; from participation, decision making and the superficial portrayal of women’s sports in the media and broader society.

Our aim is to level the playing field by promoting female leadership in areas across education, sports and employment.

Our all-female led team does this by carrying out programmes – designed by the girls, for the girls.

We have a significant opportunity to re-engage young women and girls in sports and education. We must work harder to do so and to prevent girls from missing out. While others champion the need for change, Goals 4 Girls are the ones driving it.

Since launching in 2011 we have provided 1800 young women and girls with over 2 million contact hours of 1-1 therapeutic mentoring, group sessions, football coaching and extra curricular opportunities. Our programmes are providing impactful solutions to tackle gender inequalities, and our campaigning is empowering more women and girls to be active. We look at the barriers that hinder girls in sports and education and provide opportunities to break down these barriers.

Your donation will allow us to continue to work with thousands of young women and girls around London to help raise the aspirations, participation and skills to successfully transition into adulthood. Goals 4 Girls cannot exist without your support.
