Go2Berg Mountain Bike Ride

Hey all, after the amazing experience that was J2C in 2022, I am about to ride its successor, Go2Berg (www.go2berg.co.za). While it’s a bit shorter (519kms over 6 days this time), I am fully expecting the same 7 hr days of blood, sweat, and no tears in the saddle for the duration. Many of you kindly sponsored me last time, and we raised money for those displaced by the Ukrainian war. This time, I would like to sponsor someone a little closer to home. Specifically, I would like to see how much we can raise to help fund tournament entries and travel costs for 2 very talented little tennis players here in Ashtead: sisters Lainee and Nolwaine Ngassam. Lainee is the 2024 12U girls Surrey county champion, in the top 10 of her age group nationally, and has been awarded International Colours for playing in the GB team. She has just received an equipment sponsorship deal with tennis brand, Head, an invaluable recognition of her hard work and dedication to the sport. Lainee’s sister, Nolwaine, is equally talented; having recently become the 2024 9U girls Surrey county champion, and is in the top 2 in her age group nationally. The girls are both coached by their Dad Cedric, who is always to be found on one of the Ashtead courts; patiently, happily, coaching at least one child, not necessarily one his own four girls. As the girls progress, the costs of traveling nationally to compete, together with entry costs, add up significantly, and I would love it if we could help make this next year of competing a little easier for the family; I can assure you the hours put in by those girls and Cedric on the court make any hours we put into our riding pale in comparison!
