Aim

To help recoup some of the losses sustained when Gary tried to save his employees livelihoods, hopefully enabling him to keep his home.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our campaign. We are hoping to raise some money to support our good friends Gary and Susan who, through no fault of their own, are in a difficult situation. Until recently Gary was the Director of a local company, but unfortunately the company has had some difficulties which have lead to liquidation. In an effort to save the livelihoods of everyone working for the company, Gary took out several personally guaranteed loans – which it now falls to him pay, despite having just lost his income. As a result of this, Gary and his wife Susan are now at risk of losing their home… We would like to stop this from happening!

Now, you may be wondering why you should care about these people and their house. After all, there’s a cost-of-living crisis going on and we’re all struggling. But Gary and Susan really do deserve your support, and anything you can spare would be appreciated so much. They are universally loved by everyone they meet, and for good reason. They are heavily involved with community projects, spending weekends maintaining a meadow or manning tabletop sales. During the pandemic, they sent pizzas to the hospital to keep up staff morale. They are always ready to answer a call for help, so perhaps the best way to show you the kind of people they are would be through the eyes of those who know them.

So, we’d like to introduce you to Gary and Susan, one of the nicest couples on the planet!

They offered conversation when I needed to talk, they listened when I needed to vent, guidance when I felt lost, and gave me opportunity at the time when it all felt hopeless. “A couple of years ago, our house flooded and half our possessions were destroyed. I posted on Facebook bemoaning our bad luck, and within half an hour Gary and Sue had deposited money into our account so we could replace things. I honestly cried, it was such an overwhelming act of generosity with no expectation of reward or recognition. They are just stunningly beautiful souls.” (GR)

“I've known Gary and Sue since I was about 14 years old, when I went to school with their son. From when I first met them they have always been the most supportive people I've ever known. Over the years they have helped me in so many ways, from helping us out when our family car broke down at Christmas, to employing me for 7 years, getting me out of a dead-end job that was causing me to go into the depths of depression, and the support offered both personally and as an employer while I dealt with those issues. They are two of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever met, who consistently and constantly put other people before themselves.” (JR)
