Glynde Street neighbours are partnering with local charity Street Trees for Living to bring two wonderful new trees to our road.
We are supporting local charity Street Trees for Living to bring trees back to vacant plots on Glynde Street.
Street Trees for Living works with local residents and Lewisham Council to get more trees planted in local areas. Because all projects are community-led, and because trees are watered and cared for by local volunteers, they have a very high survival and success rate.
More healthy trees in our area will help to cool the street, provide shade, improve air quality, support wildlife, and generally make for a more beautiful and enjoyable neighbourhood.
Our job is to raise £395 per tree (a total of £790), which is a contribution towards the total costs involved in sourcing and planting street trees. The rest of the costs and the work of planning and coordinating with Lewisham Council is taken on by Street Trees for Living.
Please get involved to help make the street greener!
