Aim

We want to open GLOSS to the public: an affordable membership programme, regular open-session access, and a vibrant year‑round programme.

Who We Are

GLOSS - Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sound - is the UK’s first non-profit, artist-led electronic music library. Formed by Lewis and Suzi Cook (of Free Love), GLOSS has expanded to work with a growing team of artists and creatives.
Over the last few years, we've offered over 100 free workshops and collaborating with artist, community groups, universities and organisations from Glasgow. We've moved into a new space in the centre of Glasgow and have been working hard to be able to offer public access through memberships, open sessions, artist residencies, workshops, events and more. And we are just about there - we just need your support!

Our Vision

We want to offer a versatile resource that offers access to affordable gear, education, space and resources, centred around community. We believe that the relationship between artist, audience, community and resources is more essential than ever in finding and exploring meaning, culture, history and the future of electronic music. Inspired by the likes of MESS in Melbourne, Portland Synth Library, Prague Synth Library and more, we hope for GLOSS to become an important part of Glasgow's intertwined relationship with electronic music - celebrating it's history but also creating new opportunities for our city's future.

Why We Need You Now

We’re nearly ready to open GLOSS as a public hub - with affordable membership access, regular open sessions, and a year-round programme of workshops and events. But to make this possible, we need your support to bridge the gap between where we are now and what we’re building.

This campaign will help cover:

  • Space setup & equipment maintenance (workstations, cables, kits)

  • Staffing & administration to run sessions and support members

  • Operational essentials: rent, utilities, insurance, long-term upkeep

Every pledge is matched by Creative Scotland - doubling your impact and helping us lay the groundwork for something long-lasting.

What You’ll Get

By backing this campaign, you can pre-order a one-year GLOSS public membership - available in three tiers: Access, Standard, and Solidarity.
Membership includes:

  • Discounted access to open sessions (less than half the drop-in rate)

  • Priority booking

  • Invites to member events and workshops

  • And a place in the first wave of GLOSS members – helping shape what the library becomes

Your membership will also help subsidise workshops and open sessions that will be offered at no cost to people who face barriers to affording access.

How You Can Help

Choose a membership tier that fits you - or simply contribute what you can.
Every pledge matters, every pound gets matched, and every member helps shape what comes next.

Thank you for reading, thank you for sharing, thank you for supporting!
We will hopefully see you in the library soon!
