Glastonwick, our local community beer/music fest, crowdfunding to sponsor Southwick 1882 FC, our new local community football club!
SOUTHWICK 1882 FC is our new community football club, born in Southwick in (you guessed it!) 1882, reborn in 2020 as a community interest company, organised and run by volunteers and amateur players for the sheer love of grass roots football. 139 years of proud history, County League winners many times, FA Cup first round in 1974, Isthmian League in the 80s. Thrown out of our crumbling home ground Old Barn Way through no fault of our own in Spring 2020 due to previous lease holder and council neglect. The old club folded and was reconstituted with a totally different set up a month later, first team dropping two divisions to play on Southwick Rec next door to the ground when Covid allowed, winning their league with a 100% record. In just one year a flourishing all-ages youth section has been created too. The first team is now at too high a level to play on the Rec any more so we need to ground share and fund raise for 2 seasons while our ground is completely rebuilt. The picture is of Old Barn Way in its current state.
Our target is £2000, which will go a long way to covering costs for a season.
If we make £4000, we can have GLASTONWICK FESTIVAL on the front of the first team’s shirts and be the principal sponsor!
That’d be good, wouldn’t it?
OVER TO YOU!
