What we are fundraising for:
The Glamis Village Defibrillator Project is in the process of fund raising to purchase a 24 hour accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for Glamis Village. The Defibrillator will be sited on the Corner Wall, down the side road of The Heritage Centre near the Public Toilets.
What is an Automated External Deibrillator (AED)?
Why we need an Automated External Defibrillator:
Glamis is a small rural community where ambulances carrying life saving equipment can take 20 minutes to arrive, possibly considerably longer in bad winter weather. When someone has a cardiac arrest following a heart attack, their life can be saved if their heart is restarted quickly using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
How will the AED Help?
How much we need to raise:
We need to raise just over £2,500 for our project. Our Crowdfunder target is £1500
Project Costs:
£477.60: Weatherproof Cabinet
£1,194: Automated Defibrillator
£396: Electric Connection and CCTV Camera
£474: AED Community training session
Other Funding:
Glamis Community Council - We have received a donation of £500 from Glamis Community council which will cover costs of signage, venue hire for training sessions, and maintenace/replacement of AED equipment.
Glamis Community Trust - We have applied to Glamis Community Trust for £1000 towards costs of purchasing and installing AED equipment and training
Any funds raised over our target will go towards ongoing maintenance and replacement equipment.
