Aim

Help GKPA take talented young performers from Wishaw to New York City to perform and represent Scotland at Tartan Day 2027!

Take GKPA from Wishaw to New York City for Tartan Day 2027

At GKPA (Go Kids Performing Arts), we believe that every young person deserves the chance to dream big, no matter where they come from.

In 2027, we are giving a group of talented young performers from Wishaw, North Lanarkshire the opportunity of a lifetime: to travel to New York City to perform an original musical production and proudly represent Scotland during the world-famous Tartan Day celebrations.

For many of our young people, this will be their first time travelling to America, performing on an international stage, and experiencing a city they have only ever seen in films and on television. This is more than just a trip. It is an opportunity to build confidence, create unforgettable memories, develop life skills, and show young Scottish talent to the world.

Who Are GKPA?

GKPA (Go Kids Performing Arts) is a performing arts school based in Wishaw, working with children and young people of all ages and abilities. We provide training in singing, acting and dance in a supportive, inclusive and welcoming environment.

Over the years, we have created opportunities for young performers to take part in productions, workshops, competitions and performance experiences both locally and internationally. Our aim has always been simple: to help young people grow in confidence, creativity and self-belief.

Many of our students have never had opportunities like this before. Through performing arts, we help them find their voice, make friendships and feel part of something special.

The Vision

Our vision is to take a group of young people from Wishaw to New York City in April 2027 to:

  • Perform a live show in New York
  • Take part in the iconic Tartan Day celebrations
  • Represent Scotland on an international stage
  • Experience Broadway and the world of professional theatre
  • Build confidence, independence and teamwork
  • Create memories that will stay with them forever

This project is about opening doors and proving to young people that their dreams are possible.

Why We Need Your Help

Travelling to New York with a large group of young performers is an incredible opportunity, but it comes with significant costs. We want to make this trip as accessible as possible for families and ensure that no young person misses out because of financial barriers.

The money raised through this Crowdfunder will help cover:

  • Flights to New York City
  • Accommodation
  • Performance costs and rehearsal expenses
  • Tartan Day participation fees
  • Travel within New York
  • Insurance and essential trip costs
  • Group activities and educational experiences
  • Costumes, production materials and equipment

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will directly support the young people taking part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

More Than a Trip

Performing arts changes lives.

For many young people, GKPA is a safe place where they can express themselves, gain confidence and feel accepted. This trip gives them something huge to work towards and an experience that could genuinely shape their future.

Your support is not simply funding a holiday. You are investing in young people, creativity, confidence and community.
