Give Russians real news about Ukraine using ads

One year ago, Putin invaded Ukraine.

I had been talking to some advertising industry friends about a campaign to break Putin's censorship for some time. So when the war started, we quickly moved to see if our idea would still work.

On Saturday 26th February I put £100 into an advertising account, and with the help of a couple of friends we had ads going, showing independent news in Russia. A couple of days later we launched our Crowdfunder, and quickly had thousands of pounds, thanks to generous people like you.

Since then we've managed to continually show ads, helping Russians find out what's really happening in Ukraine. We have placed over 450,000,000 ads, and they've been clicked on over 500,000 times.

To do this we've built a virtual ad agency. And our brilliant volunteers, helped by some incredible partners, have fought Russian censorship every day since.

As usual I can't tell you much about how we've done this - but I can say that every day we have hit problems, and, so far, we've always resolved enough of them to keep going.

And we'll keep on going for as long as it takes.
