A quick note from me to update you on the campaign to bring independent news to Russia. As usual I am sharing as much as I possibly can without compromising the security of our partners and volunteers, or the effectiveness of our campaign.
1. We have raised £20,000
Thank you for your generous donation. We want to do more - so we have increased our target - allowing us to reach even more people in Russia. So far our ads have been seen more than 2,000,000 times and clicked on more than 42,000 times.
2. Ads are still running.
While Putin's crackdown makes our campaign more difficult, we are still successfully advertising in Russia. We continue to search for and find loopholes in the censorship system - thanks to our brilliant team of volunteers.
3. Partnering with Ukrainians & Russians
We are currently working with a number of Ukrainian and Russian organisations and individuals to make our work more effective. Thanks to your donations we can use their content and promote it in our advertising. We can also potentially provide funding to their campaigns (other people had the same idea!) to bring independent news to Russia.
4. Volunteers
We have an incredible team of volunteers - who mainly need to stay anonymous. Thank you to each of them - for their hard work and brilliance. We have also had many offers of help - so my apologies if I haven't got back to you yet if you have offered to help.
