Aim

Bringing 90 people to Tribe of Doris Summer School from disadvantaged backgrounds to experience cultural integration through music and fun.

Tribe Of Doris Summer School of Drum Dance Song and Ceremony from around the world, is 25 years old and has a special place in the hearts and memories of all who  attend. Many children have grown up in Doris  and some are now parents. They have passed down the stories of their experiences and how Doris has been important to them, their children and their friend's children.

This year Tribe Of Doris is responding to requests from 3 community groups to bring their members and offer this unique inclusive cultural event to their families and create new memories and life affirming  cultural exchange experiences.

Funding for this is a mix of Doris subsidy, fundraising from the groups involved and individual contributions. But we have a shortfall - we need to pay for the transport, some tents and help with food. At this late stage we are all joining together to try to raise the last £2500 to bring 90,  people from Imayla (www.imayla.com)  and the Sheroes group from Full Circle (fullcircleproject.org.uk). These groups provide activities throughout the year for young people and thier families, from the inner city of Bristol. Having a summer holiday is important for young people and families, and often it's not a possibility because of the surrounding expenses.

We are all determined to make this happen for these families from disadvantaged, single parent, refugee and diverse community backgrounds.

Can you help us make this happen?

For just the price of 2 coffees and an overpriced cake, you could change 90 peoples summer experience. Now, more than ever, we need to come together and celebrate our cultural differences and share the experience of an integrated and welcoming world with those that are less well off than others.

Thank you for your kindness and random acts of beauty.
