Aim
Hello! We are Ginger's. A small independent cafe in Petersfield.... or we were, until recently. Trying to rise from the ashes!
After suffering the devastating results of a fire, Ginger's Cafe is working hard to rise again from the ashes!! The fire started on the 3rd july 2025 in an adjoining building, and as of yet we still are no closer to knowing the cause. Although a great deal of our equipment and stock is most likely still salvageable, we are still not allowed to enter the building as it has been declared unsafe by the police and fire services. 
We operate inside a much loved independent bookshop called One Tree Books, owed by Tim O'Kelly, who also owns the building and has been a wonderful support for my business over the last 4 years working together. Although we are in the process of starting a (very) miniature take-away, temporary version of the cafe, with One Tree Books, and have started the insurance caims, we are now in a strange limbo. My team are all now too, without work, which is so awful as they have been such a huge support to me and my business, and have helped shape it into the wonderful community friendly hub it has become. Lots to consider now, about which direction I want to take everything in.
But for now, I just need to focus on getting a 'coffee machine set up' sorted, as I still can't access any of my own equipment .... and we have no idea when that might be. The building might take a year or so to renovate as the damage is substantial. And as of yet there is no insurance money.
Any help is so appreciated, but by no means expected. We have all had such an outpouring of love and support from our community and are feeling very encouraged to keep going. So here we are .... keeping going!
I have been asked a lot where people can send donations, so I have set this up for anyone who feels they want to do that.
