Help get more Green MPs elected to Parliament and get Gina Dowding elected as MP for the Fylde!

From local councils to the European Parliament, Greens are making a huge impact. In May this year Green Councillors doubled in number, and Green MEPs elected from the UK went from 3 to 7. Please ensure we keep this green wave rolling in these climate elections on December 12th.

We need honest, bold politicians that face up to truth of climate breakdown and with the solutions that can get us out of this mess.

Residents of the Fylde know more than most how looking backwards to fossil fuels threatens not just the climate but risks our health, environment, security and peace of mind . The Greens will support renewable energy,  as well as better local services properly funded by Government. The Greens have the commitment and the policies to create a future our young people can thrive in. 

I’ve been honoured to stand side-by-side with local communities here in the Fylde. I know how abandoned the community felt – but I also know the power of this community to stand strong! There is at last a moratorium on fracking because it has been proved that there is no such thing as safe fracking: the shale gas industry cannot control the strength or frequency of seismic tremors. This is what greens, campaigners and local people knew all along . I will help ensure that this moratorium is turned into a complete ban.

I am proud to have been an elected Green for more than two decades, as both Councillor and more recently MEP for the North West. Working in the European Parliament as part of the 4th largest party the Greens are leading work in fighting corporate tax-dodging and driving the EU's bold targets for renewable energy. The Green Party has fought for gold standard climate action, for human rights and for brighter, better futures for the young and our most vulnerable. 

As Greens we trust in empowering local people -not dictating answers. With regard to Brexit, whether you voted to Leave or Remain, no-one can have imagined it would turn out like this. So many more facts have become known since the referendum, we believe that a People’s Vote is the only democratic way forward: people must be allowed to decide on whether to leave the EU with the deal that has been negotiated or to stay. 

But it is clear our country is divided. We will invest in green jobs in the right places, reduce inequalities, ensure quality of life across all generations, prioritise dignity in social care and resources for children services. With a Green New Deal we can help heal divisions and move forward to a low carbon economy fit for the 21st-century.
