Why Giftshuffle Is different

I believe that the best ideas come when you least expect, that's why our searches provide a variety of gift ideas from across the web, some might be gifts to make at home, some might be really useful things you never knew you needed. I am extremely passionate about the gifts we promote on Giftshuffle, we regularly scour the web to find only the best unique and quirky gifts that make an impact, so you don't have to! 

I then take it further by giving you the tools to find the perfect gift for your friends and family.

£750 and A successful Crowdfunder will help us to:

• Produce a native mobile app including publication on major app stores
• Improve our wishlist/collections system to provide multi-platform support with login system
• Improve our filtering system to handle much more complex proceedures 
• Source and populate the site with 1000's of the hottest gifts on the web

Your help will enable us to take Giftshuffle much further than where it currently stands, Allowing us to develop a native mobile application for easy searches on your mobile.

  The Back story

Giftshuffle is the brainchild of young entrepreneur Oliver Neely and strategic designer Stephen Ryan.

Oliver has a background in internet marketing and consumer retail.  He started his first website at age 16, offering money savings and later going on to produce an advice website for young entrepreneurs and web developers in 2011.  

What's the problem?

We've all been there at some point, probably the same time each year. What gift should I buy for my girlfriend? My brother in law, dad, sister?

If you don't know what to search for where do you even start?Probably Amazon... They sell everything right? So you should find some great ideas there. I have, I'm sure you have too and that's why so many of us use Amazon. The problem with Amazon however is that there's just so much stuff it can be not only confusing but pretty time consuming too. Especially with their products spread across page after page..

Giftshuffle is different, it too lists Amazon products, but also lists Firebox products, Getting Personal products and even ideas to make your own gifts from things around the home.With Giftshuffle you get a mix of ideas from across the web, specific to your budget and what you do know. He likes Gadgets and Sport, or she likes Handmade items and Jewelery. Giftshuffle will then filter out everything else and simply show you the gifts within your budget, for him that are related to sport or gadgets.

What does Giftshuffle aim to achieve?

The aim of Giftshuffle is simple, to provide an easy to use and enjoyable tool for people to find gift ideas and inspiration, more importantly our aim is to provide you with unique and quirky gift ideas you wouldn't normally find elsewhere, things that you would never have thought of, all in one place.See something you like? Save it to your basket for later, create collections for different members of your family or different occasions.

Giftshuffle so far..

Oliver got the idea for Giftshuffle from seeing a simple app called "Shuffle My Life"  on each press of the button users are given a suggestion of something to do at that point in time, for example:

• Re-play a classic video game you own.
• Random act of kindness. Why not forgive someone for a past mistake they made?
• Try searching for yourself on Google.

I then thought about how the idea of "shuffling" could be used for other things such as news or jokes, or even gift ideas...  After a few months of research and looking at existing models Giftshuffle was developed and took on a form of its own.  

This project successfully funded on 18th August 2014
