Aim

Our aim is to support emerging artists and bring together the wider community of South London through art in a playful halloween art show.

Hi! Our names are Kavitha and Rory, and we are putting on a non-profit art exhibition in the hopes of bringing together our South London community through our vision Ghost Show: The Haunted House. 

Our aim for Ghost Show is to create a free, open, alternative art exhibition, running community-based workshops and live events. As artist’s based in the Deptford and the South London area, we know that the professional art community can at times be limited and hard to reach. Our primary aim is to break down these unseen barriers of contemporary art and to share the joy and creativity that we experience and benefit from everyday. If we are able to inspire one person from the South London community, we would feel as though we had been successful in our goals. Our aim, in reality, is to inspire many from our local community to get involved with art through free events that are inclusive to all ages, genders, cultures, abilities and sexualities.

Running our pilot ‘Ghost Show: The Nightmare Before Christmas’ last Winter in 2021, we learnt that it is possible to create an open and fun art show drawing interest from onlookers from the local community sparking our interest in the grouping of the artist audience and the local community. We felt that both audiences of all ages thoroughly enjoyed the public event and it’s something that we are both passionate to push forward and create for our community.

Ghost Show 2022 is opening Monday 31st October till Saturday 5th November 2022 at Copeland Park. Check out our instagram @_ghostshow to see last year's rendition of Ghost Show.

Why we need you?

We are trying to fundraise £2400. We want to be able to support all artists, workshop leaders, technicians, managers and the team in helping make Ghost Show. We are a voice for an inclusive art world and we are attempting to bring together the community in Deptford and Peckham. We want to be able to pay for our workers and not always take free labour from professional artist’s that the art world is so used to doing. We want to recognise the years of work that have gotten folks to be as gifted and skilled as they are.

We are aiming to have the merchandise ready for collection once the event is live at Copeland Park. If there are any issues with collection, speak to us and we can sort out postage if needed :)
