Getting back on the road after catastrophic world ending/car ending engine failure.

I absolutely hate asking for help. Particularly in an economic era like we're in. But my day job is just about covering bills and outgoings so I would love to put on an online streamed comedy show to try to raise some money towards it. All contributors will get access to the live show as it happens (I'll aim to do some kind of vote to get the best day and time) and a recording will be available for anyone who can't make it. I'm hoping to rope in some of my better known friends to make sure it represents good value - and there is no lower limit on how much you can chip in. Anything would make a massive difference.

What happened? Well, whilst on the M5 en route to a gig in Cornwall on the weekend, Percy, the plucky Kia Picanto started whistling and flashing all his lights at us. Whilst I normally enjoy a disco, the lights are not really the ones you want to see while you're speeding (legally) along a busy motorway.  Shortly after the dashboard disco, the engine cut out completely. The next 3 hours was sitcom levels of roadside French Farce involving everything from a Bill Bailey in Hot Fuzz styled man from Highways agency to a proper Eastend shyster mechanic who opened the bonnet and gave us the professional opinion of '*AHAHAHAHAHAHA it's f*cked' (before trying to 'take it off our hands for scrap' in the middle of the night) Then had a luxurious unplanned stay in the salubrious grounds of a service station Days Inn before paying a lovely man called Peter to take it away. 

Now Eastend shyster wasn't quite right - technically Percy could be saved! But it's going to cost £2500. The garage would give us £1000 for it as scrap. £1000 won't get us a car that we could safely travel at night in, so repair is the only option. But, like most people facing a cost of living crisis, I do not have £2500. So currently I'm off the road, looking at cancelling small, independent gigs that covered petrol money but won't cover train travel, or the buses and taxis to and from venues in towns I'm unfamiliar with late at night.
