Get Spencer Park a Defibrillator to Save Lives

Aim

Please help us to raise £2500 to buy Spencer Park a defibrillator, in memory of Jagjit Singh Sidhu who died in the Park earlier this year.

We at Friends of Spencer Park would like to install a defibrillator with a locked cabinet in The Pavilion at Spencer Park. Our passion and motivation for this appeal follows the tragic death of 'Judge' Sidhu, who was exercising in our Park. 

We don’t know if a defibrillator could have saved this wonderful man's life. Yet we as a community group feel we have to do something to prevent another tragedy and help save a future life.

The sum of £2500 we are raising is for the defibrillator, a cabinet, installation and the 5 years running costs.

Defibrillators save lives every single week. If a defibrillator is used within 1 minute of a cardiac arrest the survival rate is 90%; within 3-5 minutes it’s 74%.

But there aren't enough of them in our community and too many people aren’t given a chance because there isn’t a defibrillator nearby.
