Who am I?

Hello! My name is Amy. I'm 41 and have 2 small kids. I'm also a comedian and theatre maker and am good! I gig all over the country, was a finalist in the Funny Woman awards, and have lots of positive reviews.

What do I want to do?

I have been working on a show I am really proud of. It's an off-kilter stand-up comedy show that uses all the skills I've learnt over 10 years of working in theatre and comedy. It's about starting again in your late 30s, and as well as being really funny I hope it's going to mean something, especially to marginalised people.

Why should I give you money? Doesn't everyone who goes to the Fringe need cash?

As  someone a little older, with caring responsibilities, and serious mental health issues (bipolar disorder), by taking my first comedy show to the Fringe I hope to inspire others in a similar position to make creative work, and to be ambitious.

Because I have kids (and am separated from their dad) Edinburgh Fringe will be very expensive (around 8 grand minimum), not least because I need to find accommodation my daughters can stay in with me. Tiny is okay! But I need 2 bedrooms.

Truthfully, it is still very hard to build a career in comedy without debuting a show at the Fringe. Taking up this show will, all being well, help secure a better financial future for me and my girls.

I have put together some lovely rewards to show my appreciation for your generosity. I know how difficult times are financially, so am incredibly grateful for anything you can spare.

Thank you so much xx
