Help us take Generation Zero, our brand new, exciting, brave and poetic show to the Edinburgh Fringe 2016.
Hi!
We're Lamphouse Theatre, from Peterborough, and we're taking a brand new, and very exciting, play called Generation Zero to Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year. We're very lucky to have been offered space at Zoo Southside for the whole festival and we can't wait to get there and get stuck in!
One young couple. One changing world. She’s certain she knows the man she loves, but he’s hiding a disturbing secret.
Using poetic language and striking physicality Generation Zero will transport audiences into an ambiguous future world.
Generation Zero, by Becky Owen-Fisher, is about a young couple and is set roughly 50 years in the future. It tackles the subject of our changing planet, and considers a world which has been altered by the actions of their parents and forbears. She is a journalist, and attends an activist group for research on an article. Intrigued by their ideologies she joins the group, but her boyfriend isn't so keen. The storyline has been inspired by the recent stories of undercover policemen starting relationships with activists. But we don't want to give anything away! The writing is very poetic and lyrical and gives the play a rather magical feel. It's different, and it's exciting, and we can't wait to show it to you all!
A look at our future through the eyes of the first generation to tackle climate change head-on.
We're very lucky because we already have some of our budget, and with this we've paid for the venue and our (rather wonderful) actors. We need a further £3000 to cover the next part of the project.
Your donation will help us pay for:
Please help us in any way you can! We've come up with some (frankly rather brilliant pledges) which we hope will incentivise you!
Thanks for all your help! And a big thanks to Francesca Dolan for the video voice-over!
Love, Lamphouse X
