Dear Friends of Golden Grove,

Crowdfunding Campaign Launched: We Need Your Support!

We are pleased to announce that our crowdfunding campaign is now officially live!

As you know, as the new Trustees of Golden Grove, we have been diligently addressing the most pressing and immediate concerns that we inherited. This fundraiser is just the beginning of a larger plan.

Our first steps right now are to secure liability insurance for public access and volunteers, fund an arboriculturist survey, reopen the Park to the public (including the playground and toilets), improve site security and signage, and prevent further damage to the buildings this winter.

There is a lot more work to be done in the months and years ahead, but your your generous contributions now will enable us to take these crucial first steps:

• 1) Secure liability insurance (approx. £5,000) to allow for public access – to enable visitors, and volunteers, to enter the grounds.
  
  
• 2) Complete an Arboretum Survey – a requirement for the liability insurance, but also to include some immediate essential works to make the Arboretum safe so that it can be re-opened and once again be enjoyed by the public (approx. £1,500).
  
  
• 3) Essential toilet repairs, additional security signage, and playground safety certificate (approx. £1,800).
  
  
• 4) Complete emergency roof repairs to stop the current ingress of water to prevent further deterioration of the mansion house (approx. £1,500).
  
  Stop Press:
  Thanks to the generosity of one wonderful donor, who has paid for the emergency roof repairs in full (over £1,600), this week we have been able to complete the emergency roof repair. A huge thanks to Cled Moses and his team, who carried out the work under very difficult conditions.
