Hello, I'm Geoff Cooper and I need your help.
I need to raise £10,000 to help support my campaign to put a real liberal MP back into Westminster for the people of Romsey and Southampton North.
Elections are expensive. The Conservatives are backed by individuals and businesses that pour millions into their campaign war chest, whilst Labour is backed financially by the Unions.
The Liberal Democrats do not receive funding like this. We must rely on like-minded people like you, to make donations to fund our campaign. We need all of you who share our values and our beliefs in an equal, fair and just society to help us.
To write a letter to everyone in the constituency costs £1500.
To deliver just one leaflet to the entire constituency costs using volunteers costs £1200.
Our constituency has over 70,000 voters in nearly 44,000 homes - that's a lot of doors to deliver to and to knock on! We want to ensure we reach as many people as possible.
With your donations, we will be able to:
- Coordinate our teams of brilliant volunteers.
- Drive home our message of change with our campaign literature.
- Build a solid digital campaign to reach all voters, particularly the younger and disenfranchised voters.
- Fund an HQ office in Romsey.
- Fund the campaign team working hard in the background to help get me elected as your next MP.
I'm standing because, like you, I don't want to be represented by a Conservative MP in Westminster for a minute longer.
We need MPs who understand the challenges people are facing and will speak up in particular for those who live with deep deprivation.
We need MPs who care about the climate crisis and want to make the serious changes needed to give us the best chance of addressing it.
We need more MPs who have a wealth of life and career experience in the 'real world' to bring into parliament.
More about me
I grew up in the constituency with my four brothers, this is our home. My Mum was a local GP and my Dad was a school teacher and is a local councillor.
Today, I have nearly 20 years of experience in business and commerce working in a diverse range of markets and teams across the globe. Much of that experience has been working in commercial roles as a troubleshooter and problem solver for large multinationals.
I was elected in 2022 to represent North Baddesley on Test Valley Borough Council.
I want a better future for our children and our grandchildren than the one I see being offered to the next generation currently. I'm stepping up because I want to help make that change happen. Changing the country is about decisive action, not just words. And with your help, that starts here in Romsey & Southampton North.
