The Cause
The parents and Squad Members are raising vital funds to send these rising stars to the European Championships in Portugal this August 2026!
These fearless, incredibly talented athletes have been training relentlessly, pushing their limits in the pool every single day.
Funding for water polo was cut shortly after the London 2012 Olympics, this fantastic team sport became almost entirely self-funded. Swim England provides as much support as it can, yet the huge costs of preparing and competing at a European Championships — around £60,000 in total — fall almost entirely on the players and their families.
To make sure every girl is selected on talent and merit — not on their family’s financial situation — this prize draw will be part of each family's hard work to raise £3,000 through sponsorship and fundraising.
This is their moment to shine for their country! Help power their journey, fuel their dreams, and cheer on the next generation of British Water Polo stars as they battle for glory in Portugal.

Did you know? Water Polo was born right here in Britain!
Originating in the rivers and lakes of England and Scotland in the 1850s as a wild, full-contact “water rugby,” the sport earned its name from the Tibetan word for ball – pulu. Early matches were brutal: players wrestled underwater, brute strength ruled, and goalkeepers literally jumped in to stop shots!
By the 1870s, organised games were exploding across the UK. The first recorded “water polo” match took place at Crystal Palace in 1873, Scotland hosted the world’s first club championship in 1886, and England played Scotland in the very first international in 1890. Britain didn’t just invent the game — we launched it onto the global stage, including its Olympic debut in 1900.
Now, over 150 years later, the next generation of British talent is fighting to carry that proud legacy forward.

Donate £5 for one entry Multiples available too!!- The Draw closes 12 noon Sunday 19 th July - Entrants must be 18+ and UK residents only. Entry's are recorded on a CSV file. This file is uploaded to randomised software which will generate the beneficiaries. Prizes are awarded via email/post and so you must be happy to share this information with us to recieve the prizes. This process may take some time to expedite. All communication will be via the administrator. The prizes will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc order - they are not interchangeable. The administrator will complete the award generator process. The administrator and immediate family are not allowed to enter the draw. Entries must be handwritten, sent in a sealed paper envelope with correct postage. Each envelope counts as one entry. Entries that do not follow these requirements will not be accepted.
All postal entries are added to the draw list and included in the randomised selection process to choose the winner.
