GB Duathlon Dream: Euro & World Championships 2026

Aim
Help me represent GB at the 2026 Duathlon European & World Championships! Every donation supports my training, travel, & competition costs.
Intro:
A single full-time working mother to an eight-year-old SEN child, I am also an international duathlete and have been selected to represent Great Britain (GB) in the 2026 European and World Championships.
Having gained a silver medal in the 2025 World Championships, I seek help financially to enable me to realise my dream of a gold medal – or even two – in the 2026 championships.
Prior to the birth of my son in 2017 I competed professionally as an elite cyclist in the international peloton and in cyclocross at national level.
I continued to ride my bike until the day before I gave birth (and even pedalled up the Tour de France mountain ascents when I was six and a half months pregnant!).
Following my son's birth, I continued to cycle but stopped competing for a couple of years, instead dedicating myself to raising him.
During Covid Lockdowns I commenced running, pushing my son in a running buggy. Unbeknownst to me, my ex-cycling coach was tracking my runs and times, paying particular attention to Park Run results. In autumn 2021 he contacted me, suggesting that I focus my athletic ability on duathlons.
After a brief period of structured training, I entered my first duathlon event in April 2022.
My duathlon journey thus far:
By November 2022 I had been selected to represent GB in the 2023 European and World Championships – Sprint Distance and Standard Distance Duathlon events.
Due to a freak injury and subsequent major surgery, I had to withdraw from the 2023 Championships. Despite also being selected for the 2024 Championships, due to the lengthy period of recuperation and rehabilitation resulting from my injury and surgery, I was unable to compete.
I did not raise sufficient funds to cover the expenses needed to participate in both the 2025 European and World Championships. However, I was hugely grateful for the support that I received which enabled me to compete in the World Championships. It was my first ever international duathlon, and I came away with a silver medal.
Following my success at the World Championships and as a result of the financial support that I had received, in 2025 I also became the British and English Standard Distance Duathlon Champion and placed second in the British and English Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships.
Going forward -- my request for your help:
Having invested a huge amount of hope, energy, time, and financial outlay, I have once again qualified to represent GB for the European and World Championships, in 2026.
This inevitably comes at a cost, and I cannot achieve it alone. Despite being an elite athlete and having been selected to represent Great Britain in World Class events, there is no funding available, so I personally have to finance all involvement in the sport.
To enable me to participate, I require financial support in several key areas; I would be hugely grateful for any assistance that you can give to cover expenses that I will incur in competing in the 2026 Duathlon European and World Championships.
Areas of cost:
- Coaching.
- Equipment (kit): running shoes, cycling shoes, triathlon suit, racing bike.
- Travel Expenses: Funds for airfare, accommodation, and ground transportation to attend races.
- Training Costs.
- Competition Fees: Entry fees for major duathlon events.
- Recovery and Medical: Assistance with physiotherapy and osteopathy to prevent further injury.
