Help Mohammed take up his postgraduate studies at Aberdeen University 2026

Hello, our names are Phoebe, Leyla, Eva and Robert and we’re currently raising money for our friend Mohammed - a student, who is currently trapped in Gaza.
Mohammed has received an unconditional offer to study a postgraduate degree in Data Science at The University of Aberdeen. We are on a tight schedule to have him evacuated by the British Embassy to start his studies in Scotland January 2026.
We know this is possible as Mohammed's friend Othman arrived at Aberdeen University in September 2025.
Mohammed's main goal in life is to pursue his studies in Data Science and return to Gaza to implement his learning and to rebuild his country and community with dignity.
We’ve been meeting up with Mohammed weekly on FaceTime for the last few months. Hearing what he has done with his previous studies has shown us what a truly remarkable student he is and how he could be an invaluable asset to Scotland, Aberdeen, Palestine and our future.
Under constant bombardment, he has been working and volunteering tirelessly to create IT systems that help with international humanitarian organisations, becoming vital to the work that these charities are doing in Gaza.
He has worked on many complex projects, including: water resource development (providing clean water for 8000+ families), orphan sponsorship programmes, basic needs distribution, secure transportation systems (200+ displaced families to Northern Gaza), crisis support, cash dispersion, school projects (such as Shawader school). As an Information Officer, he led a team of 30 staff members across 7 relief zones, overseeing data collection and statistical analysis, as well as managing import and export documentation to ensure smooth coordination of humanitarian operations (that served more than 30,000 families).
All of this while suffering from post-traumatic stress and caring for his remaining family and friends. He’s been committed to practicing English and applying to universities in the UK ( 5 successful invitations) with minimum electricity, internet and food at Khan Yunis refugee camp. As we said, he’s truly remarkable.

As the struggles in Gaza continue, and international governments fail to block arms we, in the West, watch on and feel helpless. But if we turn our attention to the smaller obstacles, obstacles that can be overcome and the individual people that can benefit from direct help and generosity, we can have a larger, more fulfilling impact.
This is your invitation to do so with Mohammed.
In order for Mohammed to be evacuated he needs proof of funds for the university fees and for living costs. We are still trying to find scholarship programmes and lobbying for his fees to be waved, but we want to start raising as much as we can to help. All proceeds will go directly to Mohammed’s education and family.
Due to the tight timescale we're asking for you not to delay in your donation. The evacuations happen without much warning and we only have a small window before Mohammed's studies start.
If, for some reason, Mohammed is unable to take up his studies in January, we will insure the money is used for Mohammed’s future learning and/or to support his wellbeing and the wellbeing of his family in Gaza.
We hope that you find it within your hearts to join us in this campaign and we can continue to build our reputation on the global stage as a compassionate country not just by our empathy, but of our direct action and impact of those living under incredibly difficult conditions.

We are so hopeful that we can get Mohammed to Aberdeen, make his transition as easy as possible and welcome him with open arms.
We thank you for anything you can offer and send you all our gratitude for taking the time to read our campaign.
We understand that times are tough and the cost of living high, if you are unable to contribute at this time but would like to help in another way please email us directly on [email protected]
