Support our free cafe and warm space this winter!
Who are we?
Happydays UK is a charity that offers support and housing to formerly homeless people, as well as a number of crisis care services at The Gathering Place in central Halifax, including a food bank, winter night shelter, and free cafe. Our doors are open to anyone in need this winter for a hot drink, a chat with our support workers, or use of our laundry facilities. Our free cafe serves hot two-course lunches three times per week.
Community impact
We work for the benefit of homeless and disadvantaged people in Calderdale, and aim to help them transform their lives for the long-term rather than limit our help to fulfilling short-term needs.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We're crowdfunding to raise money for the increasing energy and food costs caused by the cost of living crisis, and the bridge the gap between rising demand and a shortfall in donations.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We will split any money raised between food and utilities for our premises, The Gathering Place. This large site also hosts office space and a winter night shelter, so it can be costly to heat as it is in use around the clock. Ingredients for our free cafe are primarily sourced from FareShare at a cost of around £2000 per year.
