Aim

Running the London Marathon 2026 for Alzheimer’s Society in memory of my Nan, to help fight this cruel disease and support vital research.

I’m Gary Parker, an In-Flight Lead with British Airways, and in April 2026 I’ll be running the London Marathon in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. This is more than just a race for me — it’s a journey in memory of my wonderful Nan, who we sadly lost last year to Alzheimer’s.

I watched first-hand as this cruel disease took away her memories, her independence, and ultimately her life. It was heartbreaking for our whole family, but it also gave me a purpose: to help fund the vital research and support that the Alzheimer’s Society provides to people living with dementia and their loved ones.

Through my marathon challenge, I want to raise awareness and as much money as possible to ensure no family has to go through what we did. Every mile I run is for my Nan, for those we’ve lost, and for everyone still fighting.

With the backing of my friends, family, and British Airways colleagues, I’m determined to cross that finish line knowing I’ve made a difference. Together, we can bring hope for a future without Alzheimer’s.
