Garnethill Bread Oven

Aim
To build a communal bread oven in Garnethill Park.
The Garnethill Bread Oven will offer a central fire to which members of the Garnethill community and Greater Glasgow can bring dough to be baked. Through the regular action of baking bread, the oven will be a space that is shared and cared for and the local community's sense ownership and connection with Garnethill Park will be strengthened by the oven's presence and use. Through a series of Pop-Up events in February and March this year, the community of Garnethill came together dough-in-hand to bake communally in the park. The response to the presence of an oven in the space has been one of warmth, intrigue and joy. Now the community will come together to construct the permanent oven with the help of this funding raised!
