Aim: Support our Gardening for Good campaign to help us do more good – for people with learning disabilities, visitors and the planet.

Please support our charity garden to thrive and continue to be a haven for visitors and people with learning disabilities.

You’ll help us improve the garden for visitors now and in the future, as well as making eco-improvements to help tackle climate change.

You’ll also suport people with learning disabilities like Rhianne to boost their health and happiness through horticulture.

Plus, by supporting our first ever crowdfunding campaign you will also be grabbing great rewards as a big ‘thank you’ from us.

Together, we can make sure gardening continues to be a force for good at Furzey.

Help us use gardening for the good of visitors and the environment

Your support will ensure the gardens continue to be an escape for people like you - offering you peace, friendship and tranquillity to escape your busy life.

You will help secure the friendly, tranquil, quirky Furzey feel that generations of visitors have enjoyed.

You will also help us push for improvements that make the gardens even more sustainable, reducing our impact and contributing towards a thriving local ecosystem. Plastic free pots, rainwater harvesting, compostable coffee cups - these are just some of our recent changes.

Help us use gardening for people with learning disabilities

Your support for this project will help people with learning disabilities gain crucial benefits from working in the gardens. Many of the people we support have had difficult lives and are anxious or unsure of themselves. Working at Furzey helps them to make a difference and achieve things that give them pride in their lives. By working outside, making friends and enjoying fresh air, these vulnerable people can improve their lives considerably.

This includes people like Silas, who told us '‘I am good, I know about gardens, I am a hard worker. I am a person who loves gardening and works hard every day. I want more people to know about my gardening. It makes me happy and I get to talk to my friends.'

Furzey also supports people in work training in the café and gardens. This is part of our schemes to help people with learning disabilities into work, currently only 5% are employed. We offer work training, supported placements and paid roles to help people benefit from the independence that comes from having a job.

About Furzey Gardens

Furzey Gardens is a secret woodland garden nestled in the New Forest National Park.

It is maintained by people with learning disabilities, who work in the gardens and nursery. Every week dozens of people learn new skills  and build their mental and physical wellbeing.

The gardens are also a place of tranquillity for thousands of people, offering them peace and calm in hectic lives.
