Garboldisham Recreation Ground Sport Pitch

Aim

The Sport Field Fencing Project will provide rabbit proof fencing, achieving our aim to create a safe, accessible and playable sport pitch.

Garboldisham has a history of thriving sports team. As time marches on so do the volunteers, children, players and supporters. In the years since, our recreation ground field and open space has been plighted with rabbit holes and mole hills, creating a hazardous playing environment. 

The sport pitch was historically protected by rabbit proof fencing. Unfortunately, due to poor maintenance the fencing was removed, enter the rabbits and the moles!

Community engagement and surveys have demonstrated that Garboldisham wants a safe, accessible and playable sport pitch. We know what we need to do and we are going to do it!

The Sport Field Fencing Project will reinstate rabbit proof fencing, achieving our aim to create a safe, accessible and playable sport pitch for Garboldisham and surrounds.

We hope this improvement will encourage locals to come together to play sport with friends and family. It is our aspiration to establish a football coaching programme. If you or your family want to be involved - please get in touch!
