Game On! RHP Murder Mystery Parties at Home

Hello! 

We are Right Here Productions, a film, theatre and entertainment company based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. We specialise in videography, murder mysteries and musical performances, including singing waiters. 

We started this year with an almost full and incredibly varied calendar of events. We performed our last murder mystery on the 14th March, and as things stand, we don't have any future events booked for the rest of 2020, or 2021. At the start of lockdown, we quickly adapted and began creating online games, both in the form of murder mysteries and more family friendly games. These proved extremely popular and we have sold over three hundred and fifty games to date. As lockdown eases and entertainment in the form of public events still seems a long way off, we'd like to offer some fun and entertainment delivered to your door in the form of play at home murder mystery games.

As a community in Inverurie and the surrounding towns, we are extremely conscious of what a profound impact lockdown has had on our small businesses. With that in mind, as a company, we intend to do our best to support other local businesses with our new games. Every game will be printed by a local company, The Thomson Partnership - everything from the evidence and character cards, to the branded notebooks, pens and other items within the game. Also included in every box will be branded chocolates, which are being produced for us by Aberdeen based chocolatiers Cocoa Ooze. We also intend to offer our customers optional extras that can be added to their order. Companies on board so far include:

- A three course meal prepared and delivered by Kate's Bespoke Catering

- A cocktail basket compiled and delivered by Dutch Courage

- Pamper packages provided by a local aloe skincare specialist

- Decorations for your home to fit the theme, provided by Without A Hitch

- A singer from Right Here Productions to provide background music, to set the scene while guests arrive 

We are looking to source investment in this brand new product launch at a time where Covid-19 has removed the usual income stream that we would use to fund such a project. The money we raise from this Crowdfunder will be put towards the following:

- The creative process, i.e. writing the scenario, developing the story and the characters, and designing the look of each game and its components,

- The manufacturing costs of creating an initial batch of the four and six player games,

- Marketing costs for publicising the games, for example sponsored social media posts, press adverts, and creating promotional videos or photographs for use on our website and social media pages.

We have already written our four player game and intend to start work on the six player game soon. The four player game, 'Deep Dish Double Cross' is set in a pizzeria/speakeasy in 1920s America.

Over the past six months, the thing we’ve missed most has been performing and with no clear end in sight, we have no way of knowing when we’ll get a chance to stage a Murder Mystery again. The entire arts industry is in crisis, with venues facing closure, thousands of jobs at risk and entire careers in jeopardy. By pledging to our Crowdfunder, you would be helping a small arts and entertainment company to continue trading - providing work for our writers and actors and creating an income stream that will make a huge difference to the future of Right Here Productions.
