Help us keep our Club on an even keel!
Crantock Rowing Club (CRC) has only been running for 2 years but has already generated such a fantastic sense of community in our village. The setting up of the Club, to bring gig racing back to the shores of Crantock Beach for the first time since the 60s, was the vision of one amazing lady in Crantock Village and, wow, has that vision flourished.
Since inception, the Club has gained over 100 members and even more followers. Residents young and old, newbie and expert are now partaking in this heritage sport not only to row but also to cox.

CRC has been blessed with support from the off, allowing us to purchase two gigs and initial kit. The Club Committee want to keep membership fees low so that anyone can join – instilling that real sense of community – but that does mean that we need support from alternative funding streams to cover critical maintenance and storage.
We are thrilled that Sport England has agreed to support our Crowdfunder matching what we raise up to £5,000. That means for every £1 you pledge, we could receive £2. Add on gift aid and your donation really will go a long way!
But to draw down the Sport England funding we need to meet our initial Crowdfunding target of £5,060. Can you help us get there?

The project consists of three elements:

Community engagement and impact is at the heart of CRC. Young, old, newbie or expert, we want the residents of Crantock to be inolved (the club logo was chosen through a village competition won by one of our young residents)!
We have already entered a plethora of competitions and this year we even made it to our first World Gig Rowing Championship on the Scillies - a real acheivement for our rowing community who put in a huge effort to train to get there. It was so special to see our local pub showing the races on big screens, filled to the rafters with locals screaming the Club on.
Whether rowing for fun or competition, cheering on the rowers or just joining in Club socials, the village is utterly abuzz at what we are acheiving in such a short time.
This funding will set us up for many years to come and ensure a resilient Club for this community to enjoy.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
