A massive thank you to all the donors that have helped us. You are amazing. We have already raised enough money to help 7 schools and give thousands of young people access to relatable role models. If we can get to £18,000 before the deadline that will help one more school give young people the confidence, resilience and motivation they need right now.
Smaller amounts will fund resources for schools and students, such as workshops and learning materials.
For every £2250 we raise we can establish an alumni network in a state school. We will be able to reach thousands more students who would not have had access to relatable role models. Smaller amounts will fund resources for schools and students, such as workshops and learning materials.
The pandemic has decreased young people’s confidence and belief in their futures. Students from disadvantaged backgrounds were already less likely than others to think they could be successful in life. Now the gap has widened. Alumni prove to students that ‘someone like me’ can succeed. They are relatable role models. They show young people a future that can be theirs. They give them a network to help them and a reason to work hard at school. They build confidence and resilience.
Future First is the UK education charity helping state schools reconnect with their former students. We know hearing from alumni changes students’ lives. Access to relatable role models can transform a young person’s life chances. We want all state school students to have the benefits that alumni bring. There are two ways you can help young people, right now.
Donation
Make a donation, however small. For every £2,250 we raise, we can provide all the resources and support needed to establish an alumni network in a state school. With your help, alumni can reach hundreds of students giving them access to the information, advice, insights and connections needed to give them confidence about the future. We are inviting the wider community - people like you and past pupils - to sign up and give back: their money or their time, as alumni.
Will you help us to help more disadvantaged youngsters, right now?

We also need people to sign up as one of our alumni and give back. With a decade of experience, 400 current partner schools and 265,000 alumni on our books, we know that alumni networks have a direct social impact on communities with need. Alumni give young people in state schools what those in the independent sector have used for years: a network to support them. Can you help as an alumni volunteer? It won’t take much time, but it can make a real difference. To find out more about how you can help your former school, or pupils in other state schools head to our website.
