In recent years the American side of world war 2 has been told extensively and I believe that to a large extent that the experience of British forces has been overlooked. My 20 minute film will tell the story of the Dunkirk beach evacuation in 1940. We will follow five British soldiers who find themselves having to stay behind to defend the beaches from the advancing German army. There orders are to defend a position inland of Dunkirk from determined German attack. We will witness how these men bravely fight against impossible odds in the knowledge that they will not make it home. I am currently in the early stages of Pre-production, but already have some elements sorted. - I have a location. - Some uniform, webbing and weaponry. - A few committed actors. - Professional shooting equipment. - The support of Backyard Productions UK. With your help I hope to make this film a reality that honours the sacrifice so many made for our freedom. The funding will be used for the costume, equipment, pyrotechnics, travel and other elements.
