Dear Mark, so many happy and hysterically funny memories of Tony in "Radio Times", and with you both in "Tiiger Bastable". He was such an exceptionally talented and lovely human being. Sending you all our love and deepest condolences. Katie and Peter x

My sincerest condolences, Mark. Tony was a man of striking intelligence, wit, and kindness—a true friend and a gifted soul. He had an honesty and beauty about him that was unmistakable, but behind his warm eyes lived a profound sadness and vulnerability. Through it all, it was you, Mark, a devoted partner of 40 years, who gave him light, love, and purpose. Your bond was a testament to the power of love and the strength it can bring, even in the darkest times. Goodbye, Tony. You were a remarkable man who deserved so much more than the pain you carried. You will be missed and remembered always. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I was at school with Tony. He played Prince Hal in the 1976 I think production of Henry IV Part 1 (Gunnersbury School) in which he decided that it would be fun if Hal danced the Charleston during the tavern scene. John Crook the English master liked it and it stayed in. A taste of things to come. RIP.
