The purpose of the Hope Project Foodbank Crowdfunder is to replenish supplies, as we constantly need more resources to meet the high demand in our local Communities.

The Hope Project is a collaboration of schools, Church communities and Catholic Churches and organisations working in partnership with Caritas Shrewsbury to address food poverty. We have direct responsibility for several foodbanks in various parts of Wythenshawe, and in Northern Moor. Our foodbanks aim to provide a supply of three meals a day for three days to those in need.

During the Coronavirus lockdowns, our foodbanks were providing food for over 1,200 meals per week.

Each foodbank offers a welcoming space and refreshments for those who are referred to us. Where possible and appropriate, we offer advice and support to those experiencing food poverty.

Many foodbank referrals have commented how welcome they were made to feel, and some were willing to share their story. Several referrals have now become volunteers at the foodbanks or joined community groups. Other have been helped with heating or cooking costs or directed to agencies offering debt advice or help with benefits.

Please support our work in helping to fight food poverty. Thank you.
