Bob has lived at the Peninsula for 35 years & well loved by the community. Yesterday his home was bulldozed! Any help is truly appreciated.
For the past 35 years, Bob Thwaites has lived peacefully at Swanscombe Peninsula, becoming part of the landscape and part of the community’s story 🙏🛥🌿
Everyone around here knows Bob. He’s one of those rare people with a heart of gold - the type who would stop what he’s doing to help anyone, without hesitation and without ever expecting anything in return.
Yesterday, he left to go shopping and upon returning was horrified to see that the place he had called home for decades had been destroyed, reduced to dust 💔
The casual disregard shown towards the destruction of his property has been incomprehensible. Treasured personal possessions were bulldozed without Bob receiving proper warning or the chance to remove the things that mattered most to him - items collected over decades, many of them irreplaceable.
The shock has been felt far beyond Swanscombe Peninsula. There has been an outpouring of support, heartbreak, and disbelief from the many people whose lives Bob has touched over the years. He is deeply loved and respected in this community.
Many people have reached out asking how they can help, and so we have created this Crowdfunder to support Bob as he begins the difficult process of rebuilding his life.
Funds raised will go towards:
- Replacing essential belongings lost during the clearance
- Practical support
- Helping Bob regain stability after this devastating upheaval
- Legal fees
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word.
Let’s show Bob that the community he has always supported is here for him now.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support 💕
