Aim

Help fund life-changing cardiomyopathy research to improve lives and create hope for future generations.

Funding research that could change lives

For over 30 years, Cardiomyopathy UK has supported people affected by cardiomyopathy – helping them feel seen, supported and better able to cope. This year, we took a big step forward: funding our own ground-breaking research for the first time.

Our first grants are already making an impact

We’ve awarded our very first Catalyst Grants, funding two exciting early-stage projects. One is testing an AI tool that analyses heart recordings to predict risk, while the other is exploring how HCM develops in children with a genetic link to the condition with a view to identifying new treatment targets.

These projects could open the door to major breakthroughs in the future, and we’re so excited to see where they lead!

We want to do even more

Catalyst Grants give talented researchers the resources to test new ideas and gather the early evidence needed to attract larger investment. This means donations to our research fund don’t just fund single projects – they help unlock future funding too.

Applications are open for the next round of Catalyst Grants, and we want to make sure we keep the momentum going.

Together, we can change what cardiomyopathy means

Cardiomyopathy affects around 1 in 250 people in the UK. But with your support, we can keeping funding research that improves diagnosis, leads to better treatments, and gives people living with the condition – and future generations – real hope for a longer, fuller life.

If you’re passionate about research into cardiomyopathy, we’d love to invite you to make a donation specifically to our research fund. Every contribution – no matter the amount – brings us closer to a future where everyone with cardiomyopathy can live a long and fulfilling life. Thank you!
