We are raising money to enable us to carry out our new "Skills Academy" to help up-skill disabled people and carers.
The Disability Union have launched "The year of the Disabled worker"
Sadly statistics show that only 40% of disabled people are currently in employment but we want to change that so we have created "The Disability Union Academy"
With your help we want to be able to up-skill and empower disabled people and carers to enter the workforce. "The Disability Union Academy" will give members the opportunity to gain verifiable qualifications, therefore improving their career prospects.
We will be offering over 700 courses, including:
- Interview skills & CV writing
- Complete Microsoft Office
- British Sign Language
- Touch typing
- Autism awareness
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Colour therapy
- Emergency first aid
- And much much more
Our goal is to fight to end disability being a barrier to work or self improvement.
To achieve this we need your help! We are trying to raise £50,000. This money will enable us to set up and deliver the academy and all of the other services the Union gives to 100s of our members all over the United kingdom. It will financially secure our casework and community team for another year to enable us to provide these much needed services within the disabled community.
Join the fight for radical diversity and inclusion.
