Funding the Reforestation of Cornwall

Aim: Plant One is reforesting Cornwall, the most deforested county in the UK. Funding allows the business to become fully financially independant

What We've Achieved So Far

Plant One has been active since February 2021 and in that time we've worked with the community to plant nearly 10,000 trees in the county over 3 seasons across a range of sites.

Why We're Asking For Help

We're very proud of what we've achieved but there's still room for improvement. Plant One is run by a mixture of part-time contractors & volunteers whose passion drives the business. However, we're in a climate crisis and we need faster solutions. Our team could spend the next few years building up Plant One, or we could ask you to help us over our financial threshold faster so we can scale quickly. We've already had a big impact; imagine what we could achieve full-time!

The money we receive will go toward three core purposes:

1.     Paying fair wages to our dedicated team. While our volunteers have been working tirelessly to make Plant One a success, we need financial support to undertake larger regeneration projects that will have a major impact on our environment. Your donations will be used to pay fair wages to our hard-working team so they can focus their full efforts on the cause. No more juggling full-time jobs on the side and working holidays and evenings to make a difference. This means we can do what we do best; establishing woodlands for us all to enjoy.

 2.     Bridging the gap between planting and grant funding. While we're looking to apply for tree planting grants, the reality is that there's often a gap between the cost of a project and the amount of grant money we're able to secure. With your help, we can cover these costs, allowing us to scale to much larger regeneration projects.

 3.     Acquiring land to create public spaces. We believe that tree planting isn't just about restoring the environment, but also about creating spaces that everyone can enjoy. By donating to Plant One, you'll help us acquire land that we can open up to the public, providing access to nature for everyone to enjoy for generations to come.

Why are you asking for 40k?

We keep everything whether we hit our target or not, so we decided to dream big!

We have so many big plans this year! Below is a little snippet of the great things we're set to achieve.

• Introduction Natural Regenerataion as a new service for business partners
• Working with schools and charities to get children and less able-bodied people out into the countryside
• Working with more community-led planting projects rather than individual landowners
