Aim

I was recently fined by the courts for Painting CODE RED in large letters on a roundabout to ‘raise the alarm’

In March 2022, I painted the words CODE RED in red paint on a prominent roundabout in Cornwall. This was part of the broader Extinction Rebellion action to raise the alarm about the climate and environmental emergency that we all face. Just as I was finishing my painting I was intercepted by an off-duty policeman. He didn’t get the message. I was subsequently charged and found guilty at Truro Magistrate’s Court in June ‘23. My ‘crime’ was both criminal damage and breaching a conditional discharge - minor crimes in the bigger scheme of the crimes being committed on our beautiful planet and its wonderful array of life.

I was fined £649 for my actions and am seeking contributions towards this amount.

Thank you for reading and considering supporting my campaign.
