Funding for The crafty creatives-cancer support

Aim

I want to make sure people affected by cancer in Wakefield have a relaxed face to face group to attend, Offering different crafts each week.

Hi, my name is Claire, I am currently in the process of getting this Cancer support group up and running in Wakefield with the aim of starting January 2023. I am doing this crowdfunder to hopefully raise some funds towards getting the group going, to purchase crafts and towards the room rental. 

I recently got diagnosed with cancer myself, I have since got the all clear but One thing I noticed that in my local area we didn’t have any face to face meet up groups, so I want to change this. Also, for me personally I find the thought of a support group a bit daunting so I thought why not do weekly craft classes to occupy us, things like jewellery making, canvas art, decoupage, Glass painting, upcycling things. A great place to come along and have some fun, relax and maybe learn a new skill or find a hobby from one of the workshops. I want to be able to offer this free but currently I am hoping to get funding to enable this. If you or any business can help out please get in touch. I am currently hoping to get sofas/coffee tables and other things that will make the room comfy and welcoming to any body affected by cancer. Also, donations of any craft things would be Amazing! Any help even just sharing the page and spreading the word would be fantastic. I just want to make sure that any person going through Cancer knows they can come along for a chat, I know I had days even with family around I still felt alone. Sometimes all you want to do is speak to someone else that has gone through it or going through it. Thank you ❤️
