To provide the infrastructure and facilities required allowing our football club to continue to play an important role in the community.

Established in the 1970's AFC Wilberfoss currently support 2 open age adult football teams and a veterans team. We are affiliated to the East Riding County Football Association with an accreditation status of 1 and play our matches on Saturdays in the Minster Engineering York Football League. Our veterans team is not league based organising occasional friendlies usually on Sundays. Training is arranged for Wednesday evenings throughout the season and Saturdays during the close season.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Due to the restrictions placed during the Covid lockdown we lost significant financial resources. The impact meant loss of sponsorship opportunities, signing on fees, match day subs together with running name cards and raffles, annual 5 a side tournament revenue and "silly fines" ( being late on match days, worst dressed! etc. ) We are therefore crowdfunding to assist with repairs, kit and equipment needed prior to the start of next season. It will assist in securing our financial sustainability and provide the infrastructure required to allow our club to continue play an important role in the community.

We need to replace the roof on both of our dugouts which also need re pointing and re painting together with purchasing a new team strip and new line marking equipment. We are looking to offset the costs associated to the dugout repairs using our own labour with costs estimated at £1500. A new team strip is £850 and a sprayjet line marker as recommended by the ERCFA pitch advisor is around £1000. If we were successful in achieving our stretch target we would look to purchase 4 portable LED Floodlights for training purposes which would allow us to train in different areas away from the fixed floodlit areas reducing the impact on the surface areas, costs are around £500 each.

Our football club play an important role in the community, it helps to build relationships which strengthens the community together with the many health and social benefits. It is well documented the effect of the Covid lockdown had on peoples health and well being and a return to normality has been of great benefit not just to the players. We offer access to football regardless of age, ability or background whether wishing to participate or volunteer. It is not a requirement to join on the basis of playing matches, those who wish to train with us are more than welcome without committing to playing competitively. Community members of all ages enjoy watching our matches which again is a welcome return to normality for those who wish to meet up with friends and take in a game of football.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
