Aim

To help fundraise the cost of one if not two Community First Responder Medical Packs.

Hello,

My name is Samantha Belokon-Dennis. I’ve recently qualified as our first and only West Mainland ‘Community First Responder’ in association with Scottish Ambulance Service.

I am a resident of West Mainland, living near Bixter, working for NHS Shetland, and also a committee member for Skeld Community Hall. I am committed to helping the community and providing support where I can.

I’m writing to request your assistance in help funding the cost of our Community First Responder Medical Pack. As a charity, Community First Responders do not receive government funding.

All services provided are financially reliant on donations and fundraising efforts through the Scottish Ambulance Service.

We would be grateful if you or your company could consider making a donation to help us achieve this goal. Your support would make a significant impact on the lives of our community members.

This help could be direct purchase of equipment or a financial gift.

Any immediate donations received will be allocated to the West Mainland Team (Shetland) to first secure a full functional kit bag and then to help procure a 2nd fully functional medical pack ready for when further locals member join / qualify in September 2026.

These packs will subsequently then be distributed among the West Mainland Responders as the team fully establish.

Fundraising is never an effortless endeavour, and as a charity, we are continually seeking innovative methods to raise funds.

The funds raised will be utilised to procure defibrillators at a cost of approximately £1600 per unit, as well as two fully operational, stocked kit bags priced at around £1000 each.

Ideally, we aim to raise funds for two packs for the West Mainland any additional / remaining funds will contribute to the purchase of distinctive uniforms and personal protective equipment.

Donations can be received through the following methods:

 * Via our funding page or Direct purchase by the doner.

(Please note: Prior to any purchase, please notify me, to ensure no duplications are un-necessary brought) Please see link to required equipment:

Zoll AED Plus Fully Automatic Defibrillator £1200 x 2

Your support is invaluable and helps us to help save lives within your community.

Thank you so much.
