At the Perth Subud Centre, to complete repointing and stone repairs to external walls, plus windows and rainwater goods refurbishment.

The Perth Subud Centre is a place of worship and has been a beacon of community spirit in Perth since its establishment in 2003. As a part of a charitable organisation, we have consistently provided a welcoming space where individuals and groups can come together, fostering personal growth during meetings here. We are seeking funding to ensure that it continues to serve the community and future generations.
The Challenge We Face
The ongoing preservation of our Listed building is not merely a matter of necessity and aesthetics; it is a pressing legal obligation. Our building has a rich history and must be maintained in good order. Recent assessments have highlighted significant issues, including damp penetration, birds nesting in holes in the walls and previous dry rot, all of which pose serious threats to its structural integrity. To maintain our space as a safe, welcoming venue for the future, we need to address these challenges head-on.

North and West Elevations

North Elevation

East Elevation
We have embarked on a vital repointing project to repair the historic stonework, using lime mortar to allow the building to breathe, and to halt the progression of damp penetration. A third of the work was completed in 2025, and the photo below shows the contrast between the repointed walls on the right and the existing stonework on the left.
West Elevation
The result of the finished first phase has been inspiring to many. The feeling of the building has been uplifted. The repointed elevations are secure. The same diligence will be applied to the remaining areas to ensure comprehensive preservation.
This Phase 2 part of the project commences on 31 August 2026 and will take ten weeks to complete. £23K of the funding for the £52K required is already pledged by Subud Britain, MSF (Muhammad Subuh Foundation), the local Subud Tayside Group enterprise (www.perthcentre.co.uk) and Subud Scotland Region.
We require an additional £29,000 to finish this crucial work, and aim to raise it with this Crowdfunding appeal, and match funding. Whether you donate £5, £500 or £5,000, what matters is the love that you give with your contribution to secure the fabric of this nationally and in many ways internationally important venue.
After completion, the external stonework, windows and rainwater goods of the whole building will be as beautiful as the facade in the photo below:

We would love you to be part of securing the future of the community-benefitting work that takes place in the Perth Subud Centre, by helping us to maintain it for future generations.
We thank you in anticipation for your support.
Thank you again,
