Raising money towards a dog and the necessary training to have a seizure assistance dog! This will help me so much, having epilepsy has really affected my life and my independence.
About the project
Hello, my name is Hayleigh and I suffer with uncontrolled epilepsy. I have regular seizures. I am unable to go out alone or to be left in the house alone for too long. Having epilepsy has really affected my independence, my confidence and most importantly my safety. I have started my own business so I can work from home and afford to support myself without any assistance or benefits. What I really need is a seizure response dog. This is a dog which is trained to respond to a seizure and to make sure I am safe and to protect me from injury by moving any harmful objects and then laying alongside me for the duration of the fit. The dog will then retrieve my medication and wake me up and help me to sit. He will then provide comfort, which is necessary when waking up and having no clue where you are, how you got there and why you are in so much pain!! This is something that I feel will help me no end. I will finally feel safe and have the confidence to go out alone with my new best friend by my side!
