To purchase a small greenhouse and potting/grafting equipment so I can start a business growing and propagating rare heritage apple trees.
I am currently growing 12 varieties of rare apple trees, mainly Cornish, including Collogett Pippin and Captain Broad, and others from the south west including Bardsey and Sweet Pethyre.
This is something I enjoy doing and I think I'd like to have go at growing cuttings, propagating rootstocks and expanding my collection and maybe turn my venture into a small business.
In order to do this I'd like to purchase a small greenhouse which Mum and Dad are happy for me to have in the garden plus all the equipment I need to get potting up :) Which I am unable to afford right now :(
So yes at the moment I am limited to my parents back garden which is very kind of them :o) However, if I were successful it would then be a goal of mine to eventually be able to have my own dedicated orchard local to my village but I'd better not get too ahead of myself!!
I know a few hungry horses that would benefit from a fresh juicy apple as well as my local community which includes a cider circle and village open garden days in the summer.
If I am able to raise any money here I would pledge to forward the generosity by passing on free apples, cuttings and saplings to local gardens and community projects, equal in value to what I raised here once i am in a position to do so.
